TAB Vision Competition jury has announced a shortlist of eight entries

22.08.2015

The international jury has shortlisted eight entries to the Tallinn Architecture Biennale Vision Competition "Epicentre of Tallinn". The works to expect an award or a special mention at the opening of the exhibition on 10th September at Viru Keskus are in alphabetical order: .Dot Flow, AD2115, Enhanced Urban Movement, Hotspot, Limbo, Magnet, Rukkilill and Triptych.

The jury will award three prizes – 1st prize of 4000 €, 2nd prize of 2000 € and 3rd prize of 1000 €, donated by the Tallinn City Planning Office. Five entries will receive a special mention. The people’s choice award based on the online vote will also be given at the exhibition opening.

Jury member Winy Maas commented: ''We learned that we will have maximum freedom – no tunnels, no bridges, no signage, no protection devices, no borders any more. This frees up a lot of space for other functions such as nature, buildings, plazas etc. We will need a lot of new ideas on how to use that space.''

The TAB Vision Competition “Epicentre of Tallinn” received 23 entries from 14 countries. The jury members are Dutch architect Winy Maas, Tallinn City Architect Endrik Mänd and member of the Union of Estonian Architects Villem Tomiste.

The public vote for the people’s choice award in the digital catalogue is open until the opening of the exhibition at Viru Keskus on 10th September.
