This event presents insights to new Finnish models of participatory methods in urban planning. The Finland-based collective of young architect´s offices Uusi Kaupunki has developed a workshop method for solving challenges in urban (re-)development. A series of workshops produced by the Uusi Kaupunki –collective has been successfully arranged in different cities and municipalities throughout Finland. During 2014 the Finnish national broadcasting company YLE has documented the collective´s workshops and produced a TV-series called Kaupunki Uusiksi.
During this year´s TAB an Estonian-Finnish workshop has been organised dealing with visions about the tunnel connecting the two cities of Tallinn and Helsinki. "The Uus Linn" event will feature a screening of the Kaupunki Uusiksi TV-series, a presentation of the Estonian-Finnish cooperation during the tunnel workshop and an open discussion.
